Low Back Course

A short course on understanding and managing back pain, and learning just what “core” really is.

First is the beginning of a Low Back Series.  This course is designed to help you understand the basic mechanics of the lower back and pelvis, how it can go wrong,  learn how to identify what isn’t working well in your own body, and what you can do about it.  Over the course of 6 classes we will learn the anatomy and function of not only the lower back and pelvis, but the whole spine, a brief interlude into the legs and feet, and even the structure of organs – it’s not just the back that can cause a back problem!  Also, we will discuss what “core” is and how to create functional strength to help you create a happier and healthier back.

Knowledge and awareness are the keys to changing habitual patterns that contribute to back pain and this course is designed to help break them!  No previous experience required, class open to all ages, bodies, and knowledge levels.

Classes begin Monday, January 2nd and continue through February 13th (Monday, February 6th will be skipped) at 6:00 PM – 7:15 PM.  A foam roller, sacral ball, and a body rolling ball will be required for home use during and after the course. These will be provided for an additional $30 (you can purchase items individually if you have some but not all props). You’ll also want a journal, your favorite pen, and to wear comfortable clothing.  The series cost is $180, and if you attend all 6 classes you’ll receive a $30 credit toward any service at Simple Human Studios.

Depending on demand, a concurrent course will be held on Saturday mornings at 10 AM – 11:15 AM. Register with Morgan at morgan.perry@gmail.com or call at 916-538-4177. Register early as space is limited, and if you want to attend the Saturday class please know that if the minimum number of people is not met the class will not run at this time.
